The IEC is a 10-digit code issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade. It is also known Import export code. The Import Export code registration is mandatory for any individual or business engaged in importing and exporting of goods. Nobody can do import or export in absence of an IEC registration. However, in some cases IEC code is not mandatory.
